The Quakers Ice Hockey Association dates back to the Philadelphia Flyers Stanley Cup years.
The Quakers' first home rink was at the Westtown Ice Rink on West Chester Pike. The rink was eventually sold to allow for new development and the club was forced to move. The younger Quakers (Pee Wee and below) found a new home at the Springfield Rink in Delaware County, while the Bantam and Midgets had to go their separate ways because the rink in Springfield was too small for them.
After many years in Springfield, the Quakers began to outgrow their rink and once again, found themselves looking for a new home. In 1994, the Quakers found moved to the Iceline complex at West Chester. Ice Line was finally a rink large enough to accommodate all their players. In 2002, Ice Line also grew from three rinks to four. Allowing the Quakers to create more opportunities for teams and players.
Since the early 1970's, the Quakers have grown by leaps and bounds. In the early 70's, the Quakers had approximately 70 players. Today, the Quakers currently have over 500 players registered for the 2009-2010 season.
We have 26 travel teams which includes: Girls 10 U, Girls 12 U, Girls 14U Tier 1 and Tier 2, Girls 16U Tier I and Tier 2, and Girls 19U. Additionally girls participate in the Quakers cross-ice programs and at the Mite, Squirt, Peewee and Bantam level.
